DEFINITION

formula definition Tealium is a tag management system that uses a web interface to manage your tags without requiring any software. It allows you to replace hard-coded tags on your website with a single tag.

WARNING

You need custom permission to set up Tealium. Contact us to learn more.

NOTE

By default, we trigger the following events.

  • A default pageview event is send when a questionnaire is accessed
  • An "sa_survey_start" event is send when the first slide of the questionnaire is visible
  • An "sa_survey_question_answered" event is send each time an answer is selected on a question (see help documentation for which question types this applies to)
  • An "sa_survey_complete" event is send upon successfully completing a questionnaire

1 Setting up Tealium Integration

In the Extra Options tab in your questionnaire, scroll down to the Integrations and click on Tealium.

WARNING

Tealium integration allows the tracking of Text Choice, Image Choice, and Text slider questions. It does not work if the Offline Mode feature is enabled on your survey.

NOTE

Note that to have a more accurate representation of where a user drops off, it is advised to enable the mandatory question option. Otherwise, if you make use of different question types, we recommend using the save on exit.

2 What's next?

  • Google Tag Manager is a tag system that Google has created that can be used for tracking and analytics on websites. It can be used to track respondents' behavior in your survey or to find out how effective an advert promoting your survey has been.
  • External fields allow you to pull in data from external data sources, such as a spreadsheet. This is useful if you want to read data from an external data source, for example, cell values from a Google sheet, use these values in variable data in the PDF report, or a more advanced use would be to use the Google sheet as a bi-directional database, whereby the same survey will also send data to the Google Sheet. This would allow the benchmark cell value referenced to be adjusted automatically as new responses are received.
  • Integromat integration - With the Survey Anyplace integration, you have loads of possibilities of actions that can be executed by Integromat when you receive a new survey response - integrate with Google Sheets, Twilio, WooCommerce, Mailchimp, Dropbox, and many more. Integromat offers similar features to Zapier but is more powerful as you can set a single event to trigger a number of different actions to be taken simultaneously.
